AIKON proudly supports Iridescent’s Technovation World Pitch 2018

Our mission is to empower developers around the world with equal-access to the digital economy — regardless of location, background, or access to banks or credit cards. This is the promise of decentralization and it is our mission to make that dream a reality.

For us, that means building platforms for people to easily tap into the global economy and it also means supporting the work of organizations like Iridescent, a non profit empowering the world’s underrepresented young people, especially girls, through engineering and technology to become innovators and leaders.

This week, we’re honored to be a part of their Technovation Global Innovation Celebration #worldpitch — each year Iridescent invites teams of girls (13–18yrs. old) from all over the world to learn and apply the skills needed to solve real-world problems through technology. The top teams come from all over the world to demo their innovative tech (this year, there are girls participating from Egypt, China, and Palestine!)

We’re excited to see what they’ve come up with and show them how blockchain and cryptocurrency can be integrated into their work — and empower their futures.

As part of the weeklong series of events, our core tech developer, Surabhi Lodha will be giving a workshop to the girls to introduce them to blockchain, show them how the ORE Protocol is being used by Hubble space astronomers on API.market, and most importantly, share about her personal journey into the blockchain world.

Blockchain is new for everyone — and so, we are thrilled to help introduce kids of today to the decentralized future we envision. In the fulfillment of our mission to empower all developers, we’re passionate about encouraging women and girls to seek out a future in the blockchain space. (At AIKON we have women in all levels of leadership, as key members of our engineering team and across all department functions. It’s a great place to work!)
